NCBA Taytay - On-the-job training is a requirement for an NCBA student to complete his course. In this training, students are exposed to the different facets of their chosen profession, and the moral and social responsibility attached to it.

This is what Alexander S. Esplana, a BSHRM graduate (Batch 2007), did during his OJT at the Oakwood Primer's Health Club.

Mr. Esplana narrated that on December 4, 2006 at around 5:30p.m. , he noticed a girl at the pool. He asked the girl's mother if her daughter knows how to swim, and the mother replied, yes.

After the conversation, he left the mother and continue doeing one of his assigned task which is the checking of the gym. While doing so, he found out that the girl he saw earlier is drowning. Whithout hesitation, he jumped at the pool and save the girl's life.

Because of his noble deed, Mr. Esplana was awarded a Certificate of Commendation (CoC) by the management of the Oakwood Primer Health Club a month after the incident. The NCBA Taytay administration headed by it's Officer-in-Charge, Mr. Edwin P. Torres, also recognized the humanitarian act Mr. Esplana did by awarding a Certificate of Commendation.

The awarding ceremony was held during the Foundation Day celebration last March 1, 2007 at the school gymnasium and attended by the college faculty members together with Dr. Fortades, who personally awarded the CoC.

During the acceptance of the award, he stressed that:

"We are not only responsible for our own life, but we are more responsible for the life of others... Kahit sino naman gagawin din yung ginawa ko... not because it is your job, but because it is normal for a person to save lives."
