CRED Fairview launched CRED-SCORe (Students' Circle of Researchers)

Aiming to upgrade and hone the skills of the students in writing, particularly in research, the Center for Research, Evaluation and Development (CRED - NCBA Fairview) launched the search for the students who will be part of CRED - SCORe (Students' Circle of Researchers), an official assembly of student counterparts for faculty researchers in NCBA, in the first week of August, 2010.

The search was divided into two phase of examinations that will test the applicant's qualifications for being a student researcher; one is the written examination which tested their writing skills, reasoning capabilities and grammar, second is the interview which tested their communication skills, leadership and confidence. The written exam was conducted last August 9-13, and out of 70 applicants, 20 emerge to the next phase.

After the second phase of exam last August 16-20, 15 applicants were chosen and officially announced last August 20; they are Phyllis Valerie Abadam, Genesis Alijid, Reymund Aurelio, Aaron Paul Camacho, Jeremie Glen De La Cuesta, Mae Cristine Dela Cruz, Relyn Ann Demonteverde, Cristopher Gumban, Faraleen Mercado, Arvie Nacion, Mary Herta Margaret Schwartz Juan Miguel Reyes, Marijoyce Paje, April Santos, and Sheena Mercy Sarmiento. The following students were chosen based on the results of their examination, their capabilities and personalities. They will now be part of the elite group of CRED-SCORe under the supervision of CRED-NCBA Fairview. This group will expose these students to different trainings and seminars that will enhance their capacity for being a responsible student researcher and leader.

The official launching event of CRED - SCORe will be on September 7, 2010 Tuesday at the NCBA Fairview Mini-Theater. This event will feature the Induction of CRED-SCORe staff and members where the official badge shall be pinned. The CRED-SCORe launching will be attended by the newest staff along with their parents and the supportive members of the CRED team, guest visitors from University of the Philippines Prof. Cynthia Turingan and the Director of Research and Development from Miriam College, Dr. Jasmin Acu;a.

The CRED-SCORe team is composed of Dr. Felipe Briana, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Kristine M. Doria, CRED Director (Fairview); Dr. Imelda Pradil, CRED Director (Cubao); Dr. Noel Antijendra, CRED Director (Taytay); Prof. Geraldine Neypes, Faculty Coordinator of CRED Fairview; Ms. Joan Pauline Manliclic, Student Assistant of CRED Fairview; and Ms. Angelique Gonzales, Proofreader/Webmaster.

The CRED-SCORe promotes teamwork, leadership, humility, sincerity, professionalism and steady character among its members.
